BANBURY United bowed out of the Calor League’s Red Insure Cup 5-2 in their first-round tie at Rugby.

Justin Marsden gave the home side a 1-0 interval lead and they made it 5-0 via Marsden again, Dave Colodynski and Lewis McBride (2) before two late consolation goals from Dominic Lawless.

Didcot Town went down 3-1 at home to fellow strugglers Evesham in Division 1 South & West.

Trailing to goals from Carl Brown and Nathan Lewars at the break, Luke Carnell pulled one back for Didcot, but Lance Smith made sure with a late third.
