Mid Oxon dug deep for a 2-1 win over Dacorum in the ESFA Under 15 PlayStation Inter Association Trophy second round at Astley Cooper School, Hemel Hempstead.
Bradley Evans’s powerful header from Shaheer Alam’s right-wing cross gave Mid Oxon a ninth-minute lead.
And, ten minutes later, Marcus Smith blasted home from 20 yards.
Dacorum pulled a goal back early in the second half, but Mid Oxon held on to secure a home tie against Southampton in round three.
VALE of White Horse bowed out of the ESFA Under 13 PlayStation Inter Association Trophy with a 4-2 defeat by Dacorum in the second round at Longdean School, Hemel Hempstead.
Dacorum made Vale pay for failing to take early chances by establishing a two-goal lead, before Pablo Martinez curled home a free-kick on the stroke of half time to pull one back.
Chris Mortimore raced away after the break to fire Vale level, but Dacorum struck twice in two minutes midway through the half to take victory.
