Didcot Tn 2

(Haysham 11, 24)

A burst of three second-half goals in ten minutes at Wimborne Town condemned Didcot Town to another heavy defeat in Calor League Division 1 South & West.

With Gary Elkins standing in as temporary manager following the resignation of Andy Wallbridge, the visitors made a promising start.

Pablo Haysham put Didcot ahead following a well-worked move on 11 minutes.

Wimborne hit back swiftly, but there was a touch of good fortune about it when John Blake’s effort in the 20th minute deflected off Didcot skipper Luke Carnell and past keeper Kieron Beesley.

Haysham put the Railwaymen ahead again in the 24th minute after a defensive blunder by Wimborne gifted him a chance which he dispatched in style.

Didcot were again lamenting their misfortune when Jamie Davidson pulled Wimborne level 12 minutes later with a 25-yard free-kick, which deflected off the wall past Beesley.

The second half hinged on a ten-minute goal spree by Wimborne, with Matt Kemble, Billy Maybury and Shaun Brian inflciting the damage.

And to rub salt into the wounds, Didcot lost both Sam Elkins and Joel Meade in the second half to injury.
