BRITISH Rail held on to top spot in Division 1 of the Oxford & District League despite being to a 5-5 draw at home to Rutherford.
Mathew Faulkner starred for the visitors with a maximum. He never dropped a game, and was only once taken beyond 11-7.
In Division 2, Forum E edged to a 6-4 home win over Begbroke to open their account for the season.
Paul Casey’s maximum, and an impressive win by Fabian Audifferen over Paul Humphrey, proved key to Forum’s success.
Forum G are the new leaders of Division 3 after a big 8-2 victory over Forum F. Kavan Warrender led the charge with a hat-trick of wins, and was ably supported by Matthew Simmonds and Jake East.
Terry Ruane bagged a brace for the F side.
Previous pacesetters Witney and Vikings E drew 5-5. Glenn Bishop hit a maximum for hosts Witney, but this was balanced out by two each from Ken Rae and Lianne Fisher.
