OXFORD’S Charlotte Harris completed her season by winning the sprint race at the Devil’s Duathlon in Mortimer, Berkshire.

Harris, who now plans to step up to triathlon and potentially turn professional, was happy with her performance in the run-bike-run event.

The 30-year-old clocked 20mins 9secs for her opening 5km run, 38.22 for the 20km bike and 20.40 for the closing run, also over 5km.

Harris is now adding swimming to her repertoire, training under new coach Alexis Christodoulou.

“We are working towards long distance events and pro status,” she said.

“The long term plan is to compete in the Ironman UK 70.3 event next June.

“My official triathlon debut will be at Blenheim (which also takes place in June), the weekend before the Ironman event.”
