OXFORD Harlequins had to work hard for a 24-13 victory at Towcestrians that kept them top of the table.

Quins were pegged back to 14-13 before wing Dean Seals’s try, plus full back Mosese Latu’s conversion and penalty, sealed the spoils.

The visitors had flanker Ben Selby yellow-carded on seven minutes and ten minutes later, James Falvey’s penalty put Towcestrians ahead.

Quins’ enterprise was rewarded when fly half Zac Norris dummied his way through for a great try, which he converted himself.

On the half hour, centre Keni Fisiau finished a sweeping move for try No 2, Norris converting.

Quins led 14-3 at the break, but home No 8 George Sym-onds drove over from a maul and Falvey converted.

Falvey’s penalty reduced the arrears again before a freak collision between four Quins players saw prop Pete Boulton and back-row forwards Sam Bennett and Seisoni Tupou all going off.

They reorganised and on 67 minutes, Norris’s break created the decisive try for Seals.

Latu converted from the touchline and wrapped it up with an angled penalty.

Captain James Eckert’s try completed the comeback as Grove won 15-12 at Devizes.

Grove had trailed 12-3 against opponents who pass-ed up a kickable penalty and missed another sitter.

Devizes dominated possession and territory throughout the first half, while Grove hooker Jimmy Wallbridge went off with an arm injury.

The hosts finally went ahead with a converted try, but Grove replied with a penalty from full back Roger Sevier.

Committed defence repelled Devizes before they scored a second try on 45 minutes.

Grove centre Nick Sevier shot over for a try following a scrum to give his side hope.

And they sealed victory when prop Eckert poppped up on the wing and motored over for Roger Sevier to convert.

Witney powered to a 32-10 victory over basement boys Salisbury at Hailey Road.

Wing Chris Beasley created the opening try for prop Jamie Burke.

Beasley then produced a try-saving tackle and some darting breaks before flanker Carl Campbell joined a backs move for try No 2.

Centre Dave Hyde powered over for Witney, while Salisbury replied with a drop goal.

A converted try reduced the arrears further before Witney’s superior fitness and strong bench paid dividends.

Fly half Matt Clarke’s kick set up try No 4 for wing Lewis Collins on his farewell appearance before heading to Australia.

Full back Henry Lamb drove over for centre Thom Murton to convert, with No 8 Joe Rowles bagging try No 6.
