NATIONAL 2 SOUTH

CHINNOR slipped to fourth place after a 47-37 home defeat to Hartpury College.

The hosts scored five tries, but conceded seven to a Hartpury side that included Billy Burns, younger brother of England’s Freddie.

Chinnor briefly led 10-5 after a try from Leo Fielding, plus a conversion and penalty from fellow centre Will Millett cancelled out Alex Woodburn’s opening score.

Hartpury went 33-13 up thanks to tries from Stephen Reynolds, Samuel Pitchford, ex-Chinnor man Jaike Carter and Reuben Haile, with Burns converting four.

Millett replied with a penalty.

Burns converted tries from Andrew Chesters and Haile, while Millett did the same to one from lock Liam Gilbert.

Chinnor hit back with wing Joe Marston, replacement Tristan Corpe and Fielding scoring and Millett converting one. Hartpury’s Alec Clarey was sin-binned.
