Ardley United’s unbeaten Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division record came to an end when an injury-time goal from Adam Lovegrove gave hosts Oxford City Nomads a dramatic 4-3 victory on Saturday.

Nomads took a 2-0 lead through John Rixon and Mark Janes, but Ardley stormed back to lead 3-2 thanks to a third hat-trick of the season by Ryan Brooks.

The visitors were still ahead with three minutes left, but late strikes from Janes and Lovegrove earned Nomads the points.

Wantage Town remain top following a 3-0 defeat of Holyport with Richard Claydon scoring twice – one from the penalty spot on the hour following a foul on Matt Pedder, who completed the scoring four minutes later.

Thame United’s good form continued with a 4-0 win at Bracknell Town. Niall Hodgkins notched a first-half hat-trick before Simon Lynn completed the scoring after the break.

Kidlington came from behind to win 4-2 at home to Newbury – their third win in a week.

Danny Longford gave Newbury the lead with a deflected shot, before Mike Duerden equalised with a scissors-kick strike. The hosts sealed the game with second-half strikes from Tom Castle, Lewis Brownhill and Jack Quainton, with Ben Matthews managing a sole reply for Newbury.

Abingdon United crashed 5-0 at home to Flackwell Heath.

They never recovered from the dismissal of Lewis Noble on the half-hour for a second yellow card.

There was no score at the time, but Flackwell took the lead through an Adam Dickens free-kick after 35 minutes. Abingdon’s ten men held out until the last 20 minutes when they conceded goals to Gavin James (2), Lee Thompson and Marcus Mealing.

United’s Wade Rutherford was given a red card for bringing down Mealing, but keeper Chris Rackley saved the resulting spot-kick.

Abingdon Town lost by the same margin at Highmoor Ibis, Ray Spence hitting a hat- trick along with goals from Tristan Campbell and Steve Peacock.

AFC Hinksey opened up a six-point lead at the top of Division 1 East with a 3-1 win at home to Chinnor thanks to Ryan Curtin, Anaclet Odihambo and an own goal by the visitors’ captain Matt Wojconicz.

Headington Amateurs and Rayners Lane fought out a goalless draw.
