Jordan Flynn’s hopes of becoming a national champion were dashed when he lost in the final of the Junior ABA Championships at Mansfield.
The Oxford fighter – a member of the Repton club in London – was beaten on points by Yorkshire’s Danny Wright in the under 17 63kg decider.
Wright’s greater strength carried the day in a close fight, and denied Flynn the chance to compete in this weekend’s Junior Three Nations Championships in Scotland.
