Lyn Jones said London Welsh’s first bonus-point victory of the season had been well-earned.
The Exiles’ head coach had called for a final push against Worcester and got what he asked for in a 33-22 win.
“We are delighted to finish the season on a deserved victory,” said Jones.
“We targeted six wins to stay up and we got five. Several games we lost by a point.
“Full credit to our players. They have given everything they have got and you can’t ask for much more than 100 per cent effort.”
Jones added: “I would like to think we have left the league in a better place.
“It’s been a ball. I have enjoyed the Premiership.
“It has been a real challenge and I hope the players have enjoyed it. “They have certainly become better people and better players. I just hope that we can come back.”
Having won promotion from the Championship in 2011-12, Jones is already relishing another crack at it.
He said: “Bristol are already hot favourites for the Championship, but you know what, I like a challenge.”
