Oxford United have confirmed they will be getting the blues in pre-season after confirming home games against Birmingham City and Coventry City.

Lee Clark’s Championship side will visit the Kassam Stadium on Saturday, July 20, while United face League One side Coventry on July 27.

Max Crocombe is in the provisional New Zealand squad to play at the Under 20 World Cup next month.

The Oxford United goalkeeper is in a 26-man group which will be trimmed to 21 before they head to Turkey, where the Junior All Whites face Uzbekistan, Uruguay and Croatia.

He will fly out to New Zealand next month to meet up with the squad ahead of two warm-up matches.

The 19-year-old said: “I know that I have to be really focused on my game and enjoy it because once it’s over it will just be a great memory.”

Luke McCormick, one of the 12 players released by United this week, is in talks with former club Plymouth.
