Gordon Ross believes it will be an emotional occasion as relegated London Welsh round off their season this afternoon.

The Exiles have known for several weeks they will be playing back in the Championship next season, regardless of what happens against Worcester Warriors.

Ross has urged the team to battle on to the last, but expects it to be difficult as the club’s Aviva Premiership adventure comes to an end.

“We want our last game in the Premiership to be a victory to put some pride back into the jersey and the club,” he said.

“It will be an emotional day, but hopefully we can channel those emotions the right way, on the pitch.

“We feel we’ve added to the Premiership this season and it would be great if we could get a result and end on a happy note.

“What will be nice is when the game is over we can sit in the changing room, look each other in the eye, our heads held high, and know that we’ve done ourselves justice.”

It is still unclear where Welsh will be playing their home games next season, so this could be their final appearance at the Kassam Stadium.

The 35-year-old fly half is keen to put a smile on the faces of those who have come out and supported the side in their new home.

He said: “It would be great to finish on a high for everyone involved in the club and everyone who’s got behind us this season.

“It’s meant a hell of a lot of get so many people supporting the club.

“We’ve really enjoyed ourselves at the Kassam and we’ve got to give credit to the groundstaff because every time we go there the pitch is great. “They’ve really looked after us.”
