North Oxford suffered their first defeat of the season in the AEGON Team Tennis competition.
North were beaten 8-4 by South West East leaders Halton, despite the efforts of Pierre-Antoine Dumas.
Dumas won his singles and then teamed up with Jack Rooney to claim a doubles success.
However, Rooney, Joe Cartledge and Jay Sexton lost their singles, with Cartledge and Sexton also going down in their doubles.
In the Wilson Oxfordshire Summer League, Virgin Active ladies made a great start to their Division 1 campaign with a 4-0 win over last year’s champions North Oxford.
Tudor Hall, of Banbury, lost 8-4 to Wycombe Abbey in the regional semi-finals of the Aberdare Cup, the AEGON National Schools girls competition.
Wycombe will now face Our Lady’s, Abingdon in the final, which will be held in early June.
