WEST Witney closed in on a league and cup double as they lifted the Fred Ford Cup with a 2-1 victory against Carterton Rangers in the final at Kilkenny Lane, writes ANTHONY BARLOW.

Goals from Chris Hirons and Karl Dodds won it for West Witney, who lead the Premier Division by eight points from Chipping Norton Town, with four games remaining.

Stephen Read was the scorer for Rangers.

Chipping Norton’s title hopes ended in a 2-1 home defeat by Ducklington.

Warwick Thompkins put the hosts ahead, but strikes from Jake Wilhelm Souch and Ian Peedell gave Ducklington their fourth straight win.

Charlbury Town boosted their survival hopes with a 1-1 home draw against Carterton Town A.

Gareth Benfield scored for Charlbury, who now need a point to climb out of the drop zone. Mike Bolt replied.

Minster Lovell clinched promotion from Division 1 with a 1-0 victory at Chadlington, Steven Burke scoring the winner.

Aston thrashed Freeland 5-0 at home, thanks to goals from Dan Long (2), Phil Caswell, Ryan Hewer and Ben Waldron.

They need two wins from their final three games to secure promotion.

Kingham AB edged to a 3-2 home win against FC Nomads, with Dom Hemmings, Sean Collins and Gareth Price on target.

Chris Lawrence and Steve Bircher netted for Nomads.

A Kai Merritt double and an own goal saw Carterton Pumas crowned Division 2 champions following a 3-2 win away to North Leigh A.

Craig Horne and Craig Greenhalgh hit back for North Leigh.

FC Hollybush stayed two points clear at the top of Division 3 with a 2-1 win away to Tackley, thanks to an Arron Hyatt strike and an own goal.

Joe Behan struck for the hosts.

Hollybush need just one win to secure promotion, although Carterton Rangers, whom they play twice, are still able to catch the leaders.

Bampton United clinched promotion from Division 4 with a 4-1 win against FC Hollybush Res, thanks to goals from Nathan Beckett, Jack Henry, Mark Carrington and Conor Kelly. Karim Diallo replied.
