BANBURY Bulls ended their season with a 54-31 home defeat to Old Laurentians in Midlands 2 West South.

Bulls secured a bonus point for scoring four or more tries, while Laurentians finished second in the table.

Three quick tries from Iain Wallis, James Robinson and Simon Bayliss put the visitors in control, Dan O'Brien converting two.

Banbury scrum half Josh Deegan forced his way over before half-time.

Laurentians pressed ahead, with Bayliss (2), Troy Owen, and Ben Wiles scoring tries, all converted by O'Brien.

Bulls drove Sam Mills over and added a penalty try.

The visitors added a final try from Seager, converted by O’Brien.

But Banbury ended strongly, with Matt Smith and David Taylor going over and skipper Eddie Phillips finishing with three conversions.

Wallingford went down 24-23 at home to Thatcham in their final Southern Counties North match on Thursday night.

Pete Holton scored two tries, with Will Bishop converting both and adding three penalties.

Didcot ended their BB&O Championship campaign with a 48-25 defeat at Chesham.

Joe Leverson, Sam Lacy and Ronnie Booth scored their tries, with Paul Costello kicking two conversions and a penalty and Josh Witts one penalty.

Abingdon achieved the rare feat of playing two games on the same day to conclude their season, losing 14-5 to Wheatley and 50-7 to Kingsclere.

With Abingdon 2nd having completed their season, they fielded two mixed sides for the home games.
