Didcot Town's disappointing Division 1 South & West campaign ended with a whimper against second bottom Bishops Cleeve in a 1-0 defeat.
Town can have no complaints, with strugglers Cleeve deserving victory in a game virtually devoid of goalmouth action.
Cleeve’s Lee Jake had a snap-shot saved by Didcot keeper Craig Griffiths, before Michael Tambling fired over for the visitors when he should have done better. Elliott Osborne-Ricketts had Didcot’s first effort, but his shot went wide.
The home side were also slightly unlucky not to get a penalty when James Nortie brought down Morgan Williams in the box, but the referee waved play-on.
The visitors continued to look the more likely after the break, with Stuart Midwinter and Jake going close.
But with six minutes left, Sam Avery rose highest at a corner to head home the winning goal and leave Didcot down in 17th place in the final table.
