HENLEY Hawks director of rugby Mike Poulson says they cannot afford to look beyound tomorrow’s National 2 South trip to Shelford.

Hawks can set up a winner-takes-all clash with Worthing for the title on May 4 by beating Shelford.

But Poulson stressed Henley must keep focused on the considerable threat posed by the Cambridgeshire side, who are fifth in the table.

“The last thing we want to do is take Shelford lightly and start thinking about anything beyond this week,” said Poulson.

“We need to give them the utmost respect.

“We are playing very well at the moment and scoring lost of tries, but we just have to keep our concentration.”

Prop Dave Manning and flanker Will Woodward return to the starting line-up in place of Nathan Morris, who is required by Wasps, and Jim Hadfield, who is on the bench.

Lock Josh McNally comes in on the bench.

A bonus-point win would put Henley two points behind Worthing, who have a week off.

Poulson said: “First and foremost, it is about winning. Shelford is a difficult place to go. They are well-organised with a good coaching team.

“If we can pick up a bonus point, that would be great.”

Chinnor face Launceston in Jason Bowers’s final home game as head coach.

A bonus-point victory would see Chinnor overtake their opponents in sixth place.

Centre Matt Goode (fractured ankle) and flanker Jordan Wood (fractured cheekbone) are out.

Prop Joe Winpenny, hooker Matt Holyland, wings Pip Seymour and Tom Gray plus centre Sam Stoop return.

“Finishing tenth would have been like winning promotion, but now we can come sixth,” said Bowers.

“We have an aspiration to get to 80 points, so we need another nine.

“We have really got to get our heads down and work hard for the next two weeks.”
