GROVE are hoping a large home crowd can roar them on to promotion when they host Trowbridge in tomorrow’s Southern Counties play-off (3).
Having been pipped to the Southern Counties North title, they take on the Southern Counties South runners-up at Cane Lane for a place in South West 1 East.
Grove enter the clash in good form, having won their last six games and scoring 300 points in the process.
President John Sevier praised fans’ efforts in Grove’s 50-24 victory over Milton Keynes last week and called for more of the same.
“Without doubt, the enormous numbers cheering Grove on helped the lads to win this epic encounter, so please take a massive pat on the backs,” said Sevier.
“But remember we’ve got to do it all over again next Saturday.”
Grove: R Sevier, Carr, Burns, Bellinger, G Nicholl, D Maryon, Gustafson, Eckert (capt), Dixey, Lane, Wright, Miles, Alder, Wells, B Nicholl. Reps: Walsh, N Sevier, Clipsham, Lewis.
