WITNEY Angels finished second in Women’s National Conference South East West 2 after hammering Barnes 57-7 in their final match.
Two tries from Shellie Tungeland, plus one each from Louise Gray, Claire Palmer, Catherine Forteath, Pip Timmins, Sophie Hicks, Charlie Sealey, Jess Patterson, Lori Richter and Lil Newton and an Emma Patterson conversion made up their tally.
As expected, a win for Havant at Marlow put paid to Witney’s slim hopes of winning the title.
Coach Robbie Mills said: “A couple of narrow pre-Christmas losses have ultimately proved costly.
“But a second-place finish and our form in the latter stages of the season will see us enter next season with much confidence."
