Gavin Henson looks to be on his way out of London Welsh after Bath confirmed they are in talks to sign the former Wales international.
The 31-year-old was the Exiles’ biggest name signing after securing promotion to the Aviva Premiership last summer.
But injuries have reduced his impact, appearing in just seven league games as Welsh, who play their home games at the Kassam Stadium, suffered relegation.
It was always unlikely the ex-British Lion would stay and play in the Championship.
And yesterday Bath acknowledged they were negotiating what is believed to be a two-year deal.
The club told their local BBC station they saw Henson as a “great player and kicker who could be a mature number 12”.
One player set to stay with the Exiles is Gordon Ross, who is reportedly close to agreeing a two-year contract extension.
