Witney went down 30-25 at fellow relegation candidates Cheltenham, but both stayed up at the expense of Bletchley.

Cheltenham established an early lead with two tries, before a Henry Lamb penalty cut the gap to 12-3.

A try from Louie Collins, converted by Henry Lamb, took Witney to within two points, but Cheltenham hit back with a converted try to lead at the break.

Henry Lamb set up Matt Clarke for a brilliant try to tie the scores at 17-17, but the home side added a converted try and two penalties to go 27-17 clear.

Henry Lamb’s penalty kept Witney in the hunt, but another infringement gave Cheltenham three more points.

Witney had the last word when the outstanding Charly Bennett made the break for James Monks to go over and complete the scoring.
