ABINGDON Town were unable to stop Marlow being crowned Premier Division champions as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against the Bucks club at Culham Road.

Dan Morgan scored for Abingdon, but strikes from Ben Gladwin, Ian Davies and Simeon Howell secured the crown for the runaway leaders.

Richie Claydon scored twice as runners-up Wantage Town won 4-0 at home to Highmoor Ibis in a match interrupted by a pitch invasion from a brace of pheasants.

The game-birds came on to the pitch in the 28th minute, and five minutes later Claydon headed Wantage into the lead.

John McMahon doubled Wantage’s with a 40th-minute penalty – awarded for handball byBen Spence.

James Forde-Small headed past his own keeper to make it 3-0, before Claydon added his second following a poor backpass.

Oxford City Nomads continued their strong finish to the season with a 4-1 win over bottom club Shrivenham at Marsh Lane.

Adam Lovegrove and Corey Forbes scored in the first 20 minutes for Nomads.

Chris Avery pulled one back for Shrivenham in the second half, but late goals from Lewis Gabbidon and Daryl Harris sealed Nomads’ victory.

Kidlington went down 4-2 at Wokingham & Emmbrook.

Ryan Curtin and an own goal made up Kidlington’s tally, but Wokingham took the points through Luke Lee (2), Matt Jones and Sam Duffelen.
