Oxford's United’s inspiring captain Jake Wright looks like missing their last home game of the season against Rochdale today.

The central defender did not train this week after playing with a back injury in the 1-0 win at Dagenham & Redbridge a week ago.

Michael Duberry and Michael Raynes are likely to pair up in defence.

“Jake has been outstanding all season and it will be a blow if he misses out,” said manager Chris Wilder.

“It looks as though he will not be available, but whoever plays, we will be looking to end the season well. “You have to have pride in your performance as a player and as a team and there is no way we will be easing up.”

Sean Rigg could be recalled to the XI after recovering from an ankle injury and is keen to sign off in front of the home fans with a good result.

He said: “Not being in the play-offs is gutting. “We’ll have to sit at home and watch them now rather than being in them, but we want to finish at home on a high.”

James Constable and Jon-Paul Pittman face late fitness tests, while Max Crocombe will continue in goal.

Rochdale are one point and three places below their hosts, but arrive full of confidence after picking up 12 points from a six-game unbeaten run.

Rochdale boss Keith Hill, who signed a new three-year contract on Thursday, could name the same XI for the fourth game in a row.

Oxford Utd: from Crocombe, Batt, Duberry, Wright, O'Brien, Parker, Whing, Davies, Davis, Potter, Smalley, Constable, Rigg, Heslop, Capaldi, Raynes, Roberts, Pittman, O'Dowda, Long, McCormick.

Rochdale: Lillis, Rafferty, Edwards, Cansdell-Sherriff, Rose, Cavanagh, Kennedy, Henderson, Grimes, Grant, Donnelly, Logan, Camps, Gornell, Collis, Barry-Murphy, Thomas, McIntyre.
