Eight Oxfordshire gymnasts landed medals at the British Acrobatic Championships in Stoke.

All members of the Oxford School of Gymnastics, based at Lord Williams’s School, Thame, the girls came back with two silvers and a bronze follow some superb routines.

Becky Evans, Sophie Everett and Siobhan Mahdoo came second in the senior women’s groups, with Gabby Jackson, Cossi Jackson, Nina Ferber claiming the same position in the 13-19-year-old category.

Rebecca Brookes and Sophie Newell completed the haul with bronze in the 12-18-year-old women’s pairs event.

Although out of the medals, Emily Allen, Freya Clempson and Grace Johnson claimed a top-ten finish in the 11-16-year-old women’s group category.

Head coaches Carrie Day and Emma Parr said: “We are absolutely delighted with the results.

“It’s a fantastic achievement to win a medal at the British Championships and it’s something they will always remember.”
