Oxford Martial Arts Academy (OMAA) fighter Joe Jackson Brown maintained his unbeaten record with a unanimous points verdict over Nottingham’s Lee Renshaw in the Queensbury Boxing League at the Effingham Park Hotel, near Gatwick Airport.
Banbury-based Jackson Brown outclassed Renshaw with his fast hands and elusive defence in their cruiserweight clash to make it three wins from as many fights.
Clubmate Alvin Ramirez gained a hard-fought majority points verdict over Surrey’s Darryl Nicholson on his debut in their light-welterweight bout at the Challenger Boxing Series 4 promotion.
Ramirez, who has only been training for a short time, showed some slick counter punching skills to catch the judge’s eye.
OMAA’s Marcus Blount also enjoyed a winning debut when he stopped fellow first-timer Nate Victorio in the third round of their heavyweight contest.
Blount opened up at a tremendous pace, throwing eveything at his opponent.
And his extra size and aggression proved too much for Victorio as referee Ken Curtis called a halt.
