Goalkeeper Warren Carter was the hero as Banbury ended a run of three Evo-Stik Soutehrn League Premier Division defeats with a 2-1 victory at Hemel Hempstead Town.
With seconds left, Jordan Parkes had the chance to score the winner, but Carter made a brilliant save from Jordan Parkes.
It completed a double for Edwin Stein’s side, who thumped the Hertfordshire outfit 4-0 at the Spencer Stadium in November.
The visitors bossed the opening exchanges and it was no surprise when they went ahead.
The home side made a hash of a clearance and Adeyinka Talibi fired in from close range.
Banbury then had a scare when Danny May broke clear, but he fired over from the edge of the penalty area.
Minutes later, Carter made a super stop to deny Danny May.
Kynan Isaac doubled Banbury’s lead with 20 minutes to go when he slotted home.
David Pearce cut the deficit for Hemel to set up a nervous final ten minutes, before Carter’s heroics sealed victory for the Puritans.
