Oxford City Stars get to celebrate winning the English National League South Division 2 title on home ice tomorrow (6.15), despite having an ‘away’ game at Bristol Pitbulls.

Stars clinched the championship with a 9-3 victory at Basingstoke Buffalo last week, but can now enjoy the moment with their home fans.

This is because Bristol’s ice rink closed in November, leaving them requiring alternative venues to play their remaining home games after attempts to reopen it failed.

Between the efforts of Swindon, Oxford, Basingstoke and Solihull, enough ice time was found, so that the Pitbulls could play their home games on the road.

Stars go into the match without top points scorer Alan Green, who suffered a hand injury at Basingstoke.

Dax Hedges is also a doubt after he picked up a knock while performing a shot block at the end of the same game.
