Northampton's England star Tom Wood says there is no danger of them underestimating struggling London Welsh tomorrow.

Wood, who played on the flank and No 8 during the Six Nations, starts at blindside for Saints.

“There are no bad teams in this league,” said Wood.

“I’ve been at Worcester before when we’ve been in similar situations to the one Welsh are in currently and I know the mind-set of a relegation decider.

“We expect them to come out fighting. They’ve got a physical pack and they’re a more than competent team.

“They’ve beaten plenty of good teams at their place this season and we’ve got to make sure we’re on our game.”

Northampton, who are chasing a play-off spot, are still smarting from losing 36-8 at home to Leicester.

“It was a bitterly disappointing way to lose against Leicester, to get hammered,” said Wood.

“But we’re still in a good position in the top four and we still believe that on our day we can be a match for anyone.

“It’s still in our own hands and from here on every game and point is going to count.

“This is what we’ve worked hard all season for – to keep ourselves in contention – and while we’ve not been at our best, this is where it all counts.

“We’re not signing off for the season yet and if we get back to our best we’re still in with a real chance of winning something.”
