Karl Walker and Mick Bennett, of Abingdon Conservative Club, cruised to an easy victory in the Gentworks Oxford & District Snooker League’s Sherman Cup pairs final.
Walker and Bennett won 267-153 against the Riley C pairing of Altaf Ali and Hasan Ali over three handicapped frames.
Conceding eight points per frame, the Abingdon duo recorded a 111-53 success in the opener.
The Alis hit back to take the second frame 92-39, thanks to breaks of 31 and 27 by Altaf.
But Walker and Bennett, with respective breaks of 44 and 55, raced away 117-8 in the final leg.
Littlemore RBL C leaped to the top of the Premier Division with a 6-0 whitewash victory at home to Division 1 side Woodstock.
Matthew Challen, Adam Brown and Jason Buck were never threatened in any of the six frames.
Division 1 leaders Riley B surprisingly crashed by a similar scoreline to clubmates Riley C, who are below them in the table.
Malcolm Bough recorded a break of 37, but still lost both frames to Altaf Ali. Thame A top Division 2 after a 5-1 success away to Riley F, while main challengers Green Road A could only draw 3-3 away to Riley E, for whom Ben Scott won twice. This feat was matched by Green Road’s Ray Benwell.
