Banbury United, who played much of the game with nine men, looked like recording a remarkable win, when they took a late lead in their Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division visit to Arlesey Town last night.

But the hosts scored twice to pull off a 2-1 success.

Banbury winger Warren Plowright was sent off in the 28rh minute for a foul, but it was still 0-0 at the break.

Things got worse for the Puritans in the 57th minute when full back Luke Cray was red-carded after scything down an Arlesey forward.

Drew Roberts scuffed the resultant penalty and it looked like being Banbury’s night.

Even more so in the 79th minute when Kynan Isaac put the visitors ahead at the second attempt.

But the hosts equalised a minute later through Chris Marsh’s header.

Then in the third minute of injury time, Leon Hibbert struck the winner to break brave Banbury’s hearts.

North Leigh scored in the 92nd minute to win 2-1 at home to robust Cinderford Town in Division 1 South & West.

John Mills put the Millers in front after 11 minutes, but the visitors levelled before half-time through David Bird.

After an even second half, North Leigh snatched victory in injury time when Ryan Brooks side-footed home from substitute Zac Westlake’s cross.
