OXFORD United have received their share of the proceeds from the Community Shield.
The U’s netted £2,000 from the match in August, which raised £248,000 and is split equally between 124 clubs competing in last season’s FA Cup from the first round proper onwards.
The money will be allocated to the Oxford United Youth & Community Sports Trust, which provides important sporting, scholastic, and extra-curricular opportunities in Oxfordshire.
Gemma Drewett, business development trust manager at United, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to use these funds to enhance our offerings at the trust and continue the positive impact we have had in the local community.”
- SUPPORTERS have until next Tuesday to submit votes for their player of the season.
The deadline is at 5pm, visit the club’s website to take part.
Midfielder Andy Whing won last season’s trophy.
