HENLEY Hawks can virtually guarantee themselves a promotion play-off spot if they win at Hartpury College in National 2 South tomorrow.

But they will face a tough test as third-placed Hartpury have included seven dual-registered Gloucester players in their squad.

Gareth Evans, Ian Clark, Billy Burns, Steph Reynolds, Will Graulich, Elliott Stooke and Ross Moriarty could all feature.

Second-placed Hawks are eight points clear of their hosts and know that wins in their next three matches should set up a title showdown with Worthing at Dry Leas on May 4.

Henley have named the same side that hammered Redruth 65-19, although flanker Will Woodward may still be considered after being unavailable last week.

Centre Matt Goode (knee) and fly half Will Millett (dead leg) could return for Chinnor’s home clash with Clifton if they come through fitness tests.

Chinnor have lost their last four matches and head coach Jason Bowers is looking for a change in fortune.

“We just need a win” said Bowers. “At the moment confidence is fairly low.

“We have had an unfortunate run of games.

“It was very disappointing to lose against Dings Crusaders after being 17-0 up. That was one of our low points of the season.

“Then we managed to lose 36-35 at Southend last week.

“If you score five tries away from home and convert all of them, you should expect to get the win.”

Flanker Sam Bennett, wing Harry Burn, fly half Will Hilton and front-row forward Chris Davies return to the squad as Oxford Harlequins host Avonmouth Old Boys in National 3 South West.

Relegated Quins have won just twice all season, but head of rugby Steve Chadbone says they are motivated to beat their fellow strugglers.

“We were very disappointing down there and we want to make amends for that,” he said.”

“It was probably our worst performance of the season.

“Hopefully, we can just go out there and enjoy it as the pressure of previous weeks is off us.”

Scrum half Gareth Campbell returns for Witney’s home game with South West 1 East leaders Bracknell.

Young back Rhys Morgan gets an opportunity on the bench, with Witney needing a bonus-point win to guarantee survival.

Grove host Reading Abbey tomorrow and Milton Keynes on April 20, needing to win their final two Southern Counties North matches to be sure of a promotion play-off spot.

Buckingham are now favourites for the title after thrashing Abbey 73-7 on Wednesday night.
