OXFORD City boss Mike Ford is warning his players of a backlash as they look to record a double over Bradford Park Avenue at Marsh Lane in tonight’s Blue Square Bet North clash.

On Monday, City inflicted Bradford’s first defeat in ten games with a 2-1 victory at Horsfall Stadium, despite having Andy Ballard controversially sent off in the first half.

It made it back-to-back wins for Ford’s men following Saturday’s 2-1 success at Gainsborough Trinity.

“It’s been two mammoth efforts from the players,” said a delighted manager.

“Now it’s all about trying to win the next one and then the question about being safe from relegation doesn’t get asked. We want to nail it down.”

Ford felt Ballard’s dismissal for bringing down Michael Duckworth was extremely harsh.

He added: “I thought the referee had a dreadful game because it was never a red card, but maybe that helped us out because it made us more determined to win.

“It now means that we’ll probably lose him for the last three games of the season.”

Ford said he intended to make some changes to the side that started on Monday against the Yorkshire outfit who still have hopes of reaching the play-offs.

“Some of the players have a few aches and pains, so the team may be dictated by injuries,” he said.
