London Welsh chief executive Tony Copsey says they will not take their appeal against a five-point penalty and £15,000 fine any further.
Speaking at the start of a big week for the club, who play Northampton at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium on Sunday, Copsey ruled out a further challenge to the punishment for fielding ineligible scrum half Tyson Keats.
There was talk of taking the case further, but Copsey said: “That is not going to happen. We have considered our position. It has gone as far as we are going with it.”
Copsey added that no decision had been taken on whether the Exiles will stay in Oxford if they are relegated from the Aviva Premiership.
Welsh hope to remain in the city if they can and Copsey said: “It will become clearer in the next couple of weeks.”
l Back-row forward Dan Browne has been named Supporters’ Club player of the month for March.
