THE 21st Rover Oxford Festival at Cokethorpe School and Witney ATP, sponsored by Red Technology and run by Oxford HC, attracted 73 teams in seven age groups.

In the under 14 boys competition at Cokethorpe, Cheltenham pipped Oxford Hawks 2-1, while Oxford’s youngest team won the under eights, beating Hawks 1-0.

The under 10 title went to Reading, who beat Oxford 4-0, while Banbridge Academy, from Ireland, were the under 12 winners, beating Cheltenham 1-0.

Meanwhile at Witney ATP, the under 14 and under 12 girls crowns went to Wycombe and Cirencester respectively.

Organiser Nick Malden said: “It’s once again been a terrific weekend of hockey and it’s a credit to all the coaches that the standard of play, particularly in the finals, is so high.”
