Didcot Town were left to rue missed first-half chances as they returned from their Evo-Stik Southern League Divison 1 South & West trip to Bridgwater Town with 1-1 draw.

Within the first minute, the visitors could have been ahead. Morgan Williams fired a volley from the edge of the box, which was well saved by Bridgwater keeper Luke Purnell.

But In their next attack Didcot took the lead.

Joel Meade’s cross from the left was headed into the far corner of the net by Lee Henderson.

And Henderson, who has only recently returned to the side after breaking his leg, really should have scored a second five minutes later but fired over.

Mark Janes volleyed over and then Meade shot wildly when clear.

But it was a different game in the second half with Didcot largely on the back foot.

Bridgwater levelled when Harry Nodwell fired home past Craig Griffiths.

Didcot were hampered by yet more injury problems with Sam Elkins and Elliot Osborne-Ricketts limping out of the action.

Ollie Chamberlain, for Bridgwater, and Didcot substitute Ricky Allaway had late chances to win it but both side had to settle for a point Didcot Tn: Griffiths, Elkins (Bernasconi 32), Stanley, Osborne-Ricketts (McKirnan 64), Carnell, Wray, Janes, Heapy, Meade (Allaway 78), Henderson, Williams.
