North Leigh, playing their fourth tough game in eight days, ran out of steam when they lost 1-0 on their Evo-Stik Southern LeagueDivision 1 South & West visit to Evesham United. Both sides had trouble controlling the ball on the bumpy pitch.
The closest to a goal in the first half came in the 35th minute.
Conor McDonagh was fouled just outside the Evesham penalty area. North Leigh captain Stuart Hole smashed a fierce free-kick which flew through the home wall, smashed against the keeper’s body and up on to the angle of post and bar.
The only goal came on 69 minutes when the Millers lost possession when going forward in midfield The ball was centred to the far post where Leon Kandekore poked it home from close range.
The weary visitors hit back and McDonagh had a header cleared off the line and then had an effort ruled out for offside.
