MAX Crocombe has been selected for the New Zealand squad for the Regional World Cup Under 20 Championship in Fiji.
The 19-year-old was included in a group of 26 players last month and is one of two goalkeepers in the final 20-man squad.
Crocombe, who made his United first-team debut against Burton Albion last month, was thrilled to get a Junior All Whites call-up.
He said: “It’s brilliant news. I know I’ve still got a long way to go to get to where I want to be, but this means a lot to me.”
The winners of the tournament, held from March 21-29, will go on to the Under 20 World Cup in Turkey this summer.
With the squad meeting on March 12, Crocombe is likely to miss five United games, so Wayne Brown will act as back-up for Luke McCormick.
