Some rivers were getting back to somewhere near normal last weekend after the floods and big bream dominated the latest Marston AC FTB Fred Foster Cup match on a fast and coloured Cherwell.
Pete Clarke had four of them and a skimmer for a winning weight of 14.2.0. All of his fish fell to groundbait feeder and red maggot.
Steve Tomkins captured two bream for a second-placed 5.2.0, while Steve Yates had a single bream of 4.8.0 and third.

Tony Gee (Acorn Angling), who used to fish the water as a lad, won with 3.1.8 of small perch, 50 in total, caught on a variety of baits.
Graham Bowen had 2.2.0 of roach on bread for second, followed by another ex-Wheatley Park pupil, Paul Bowers, with 1.12.0. small perch on pinkie.
The Thame was over its banks in places, but Cuddesdon Mill VAA found some spots to fish their Ralph Holman Cup and a few chub obliged.
Mick Hardy tempted one of 4.15.0 on bread to clinch the silverware, beating Phil Allmond’s fish of 4.5.0, also caught on bread.
A third chub of 3.10.0 earned Geoff Ring third place.
Ray Dandridge was the only man to catch in Benson AC’s match on their local stretch of the Thames.
He had a chub of 2.8.0, plus some bits, while the three others blanked.
The practice match for tomorrow’s final round of this year’s Angling Trust Oxford Winter League was fished on a cold and clear Kennet & Avon Canal at Avington.
Over a third of the disappointing field of 17 anglers blanked.
Kevin Holmes (Sensas A4) caught a creditable 16.2.0 of quality perch from a feature peg, using lobworm on the pole.
Second spot went to Tom Hobbs (Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths) with 7.1.0 of roach on pole-fished bloodworm over joker, while Richard Rosinski (Sensas A4) also caught roach on bloodworm for 5.0.0.
