Banbury United boss Edwin Stein has praised the contribution of Kynan Isaac to his Evo-Stik Soutehrn League Premier Division side and says there is more to come.
Isaac, who was released by Oxford City in September, took his tally to six goals with a treble in Tuesday’s 3-0 win against Blue Square Bet Premier side Nuneaton in the Birmingham Senior Cup third-round.
“He’s been sensational for me,” said Stein, who will be without Isaac (suspended) for tomorrow’s trip to Bedford Town.
“He has so much ability and although he’s only a frail boy, he puts in a shift.
“I had heard certain things about him before he arrived, but I have not had an issue with him in terms of discipline.
“I have treated him with respect and given him responsibility.”
Banbury are aiming for a third win in a row and Stein added: “Bedford are a good side and we’ll have to play well to get anything from the game.”
Didcot Town boss Gary Elkins has urged his side not to panic when they host Paulton Rovers in Division 1 South & West, looking to end a winless run of five matches.
The Railwaymen dropped into the bottom three after a 4-1 drubbing at fellow strugglers Bishop’s Cleeve last Saturday.
“There’s no need to panic, our players haven’t suddenly become bad overnight,” said Elkins.
“We need to improve our decision-making when we have the ball.
“Our players have the skill, but some of them need to add a bit more passion.
“We are in a battle and we need 100 per cent commitment and effort. We have to compete for everything and have the desire to get this club back up the table.”
Didcot will be without Jamie Heapy (suspended), though Morgan Williams should return after injury.
North Leigh manager Mark Gee could give a debut to Conor McDonagh when they entertain Mangotsfield United.
The former Witney Town striker, who like 20-goal hitman John Mills turned down Didcot last week, is added to a squad missing Toby Clark (suspended).
Gee said: “Conor’s a good addition. Millsy rang me last week to say he was staying. He is happy with his football and we’re delighted to keep him.”
