Oxford Harlequins are targeting some Christmas cheer when they host Brixham tomorrow in their final National 3 South West clash of 2012.

Manager Steve Chadbone is hoping for a morale-boosting effort from the relegation-threatened side, especially after last week’s 33-7 defeat at Avonmouth Old Boys.

“We got beaten by a very poor side,” said Chadbone.

“They were as low a level side as I have seen in this league and we were worse than they were!

“Brixham are a solid unit. When we went down to their place, we got trounced.

“It was men against boys, but we should be better equipped this time.

“We are hoping to finish the year with a positive vibe.

“We’ll then work hard for two weeks and see what Santa brings. We have got a few hopes.”

Quins welcome back lock Mike Forde, who been home in New Zealand for six weeks.

Lock Will Clayton (shoulder) and centre Alan Johnson (groin) remain injury doubts.

Will Woodward comes in at blindside flanker as National 2 South leaders Henley Hawks visit Dings Crusaders.

Woodward replaces Ryan Newman, who will be back in his native New Zealand for the next two matches.

Wing Liam O’Neill comes in on the bench for his first appearance since October.

Dings are captained by former Henley flanker Stean Williams.

Chinnor head coach Jason Bowers has named an unchanged squad to face Taunton Titans at Kingsey Road.

This will be Chinnor’s final match of the year as December 22 is their second ‘free week’ caused by Rugby Lions’ expulsion in the close season.

Captain Jez Hicks, fly half James Lamb and centre Matt Clarke return to the Witney squad for their home clash with Coney Hill in South West 1 East.

Witney have not won a league game since October, so would love to finish 2012 on a positive note.
