OXFORD City Stars surrendered a two-goal lead to lose 7-5 at Romford Fury in Division 2 South.
It leaves Stars ninth in the table, but having played fewer games than their rivals.
Romford took advantage of a powerplay to take the lead through Paul Merton. Warren Jones equalised after James Clarke’s shot was parried into his path, only for Matt Brown to restore the hosts’ lead.
However, Stars hit back with goals from Jack Maisey, Alan Green and Josh Oliver putting them 4-2 ahead.
Jones reduced the deficit, only for Joe Oliver to fire home to restore the two-goal advantage at the end of the second period.
However, four goals in the final 11 minutes sunk Stars.
Ryan Blackwood, Sam Park, Brown and Mark Robinson found the net to seal the turnaround.
