ROGER Wiggins defeated his father, Dave, in the regional final of the English Short Mat Bowling Association National Singles Competition at Wallingford.
In top form throughout, Roger recorded 13-2 and 14-6 victories to reach the last four, before a 9-3 success over Santo Orlando booked his place in the final.
He then defeated Dave, who got through with a 10-6 semi-final triumph over Les Woodward, to secure the No 1 berth in the county.
Woodward defeated Orlando 11-6 in the third place play-off, with the top four now waiting to see how many places are allocated to Oxfordshire bowlers in the national stage of the competition.
