SAM Egerton is not thinking beyond his studies, despite his star performance in the Varsity Match.
Egerton was named man-of-the-match as Oxford University roared back to defeat Cambridge 26-19 at Twickenham.
And while the versatile back realised his display in a high profile match may bring him some prominence, he was not getting carried away.
Having appeared for London Welsh last season, law student Egerton was asked whether he would consider professional rugby.
He said: “That’s not something I am thinking about at the moment.
“I would quite like to get my degree out of the way first.”
One London Welsh player who will not have been too pleased by Cambridge’s third successive defeat is lock Martin Purdy.
Purdy won three Blues for Cambridge between 2000 and 2002, losing his first two Varsity Matches, but winning his third one 15-13.
