GOSFORD All Blacks' Tommy Newell has been told to rest for "a number of weeks" after leaving the field in an ambulance on Saturday.
Stand-in scrum half Newell (pictured) hurt his neck in a tackle against Bicester, but his injuries proved less serious than first thought.
Gosford supporter Mike Rhymes said: "Tommy is no doubt the fastest man in this league having registered a 10.8 for the 100m.
"He has been an integral part of the Gosford backs when available."
*RUGBY league club Oxford Cavaliers will play in a new West Midlands Division next season if a revised structure for the TotalRL.com Conference is agreed.
