Second-placed Saxton Rovers kept up the pressure on North Berks League Division 1 leaders Ardington & Lockinge as they edged to a 3-2 victory against defending champions Lambourn Sports, writes IAN BROWN.
Michael Beale, Craig O'Conner and Stephen Matthews found the net for Saxton, with Micky Diven and Moise Allesio replying.
At the other end of the table, Steventon got off the mark beating luckless East Hendred 3-2 away, who are the only team in the league not to have registered a point this season.
Goals from Paul Hulme, Robbie Harrington and Gary Sutton secured a 3-3 draw for Faringdon Town at home to Blewbury.
Peter Sloane netted a double for Coleshill United as they won 3-0 at strugglers Marcham. Adam Legg got the other.
Oscar Anderson was on target for Harwell International as they drew 1-1 at Blewbury Res in Division 2. Ben Higgins netted for Blewbury.
Sutton Courtenay look menacing as they won 3-2 against Harwell Village, thanks to goals from Nuno Fernandes, Ian Dingwall and Selih Hafuzi.
In Division 3, Crowmarsh Gifford beat Faringdon Town Res 3-1, with goals from Adam Phillips (2) and Tom Banks. Glenn Townsend replied.
Wayne Vickers fired a hat-trick for Benson Lions as they mauled Marcham Res 9-1.
Simon Phillips and Phillip Downs both bagged braces, with William Wardell and Jonathon Vickers completing the rout. Tom Cousins scored for Marcham.
Ardington & Lockinge Res also scored nine, this time without reply by their opponents East Hendred Res.
Frankie Dorrian (pictured) led the way with a treble, with others from Mark Reed (2), Sam Powell, Lee Chapman, Chris Sleden and Adam Hogan.
Childrey United took over at the top of Division 4 with a 7-1 success against Hanney United.
Goalkeeper Matthew Turner saved a penalty before Childrey took control through Neil Smith's hat-trick and strikes from Patrick Allen, Alan Donnelly, Joseph Chambers and Stuart Beaton secured the win. Mike Davison was on the mark for Hanney.
Kennington Res eased to a 3-0 win against Coleshill A in Division 5, with goals from Jamie Luland (2) and Neil Buckingham.
Ardington & Lockinge marched through to the second round of the North Berks Cup with a 3-1 victory against Stanford-in-the-Vale, with goals from Steve Clay (2) and Phil Riding.
Last year's losing finalists, Drayton of Division 1, were beaten 3-1 at home by runaway Division 2 leaders Wootton & Dry Sandford.
Danny Curran scored for Drayton, with Tom Cook, Thomas Srawley and Jonathon Weir scoring for Wootton.
