OXFORD City Stars head coach Darryl Morvan is confident of bouncing back from last week's heavy defeat at Streatham Redskins when they travel to Romford Spitfires today.

Stars were humbled 12-2 by Streatham, but things should be easier this week, with Romford winning just one of their eight games this season - and that after being awarded the game after their opponents fielded an unregistered player.

With a fully fit squad to choose from, Morvan is hopeful of a good result.

"The team are aware that people may doubt their ability to compete at this level, and rather than being disillusioned it is making them more determined than ever to perform to the best of their ability," he said.

"This week we have the luxury of the whole squad having been fit to train, and with no suspensions or injuries, we should be fielding a strong team against Romford.

"The intensity in training prevails, and the players are eager to return for our home fixture against Bracknell Hornets next Sunday, with a win under their belts."

Morvan revealed that he is close to bringing in a new face to strengthen his squad.

"We are hoping to be able to announce a new signing next week," he said.

"This is a player who has impressed, and who we feel will fit in well with our style."
