OXFORD City have announced that Justin Merritt will take over as manager, starting with today's match at home to Hillingdon Borough at Court Place Farm.
Merritt had already stepped into the hot-seat in a caretaker capacity following the shock resignation of Andy Lyne last week, and he has now been confirmed as the team's new boss.
He will take on the role alongside former Oxford United defender Mike Ford, who comes in as assistant manager and coach.
Lyne has become the club's director of football.
A statement issued on the club's website said: "The appointments reflect the need for stability following the excellent progress the team has made in the last 18 months.
"It also ensures the continued availability of coaching at Oxford City to the highest standard - both Justin Merritt and Mike Ford have UEFA A qualifications."
Merritt, who will continue to play for the club, is relishing his new role, and believes his partnership with Ford will bring more success.
He said: "I'm excited by the new challenge. There's a lot going on behind the scenes to try and take this club forward.
"I've worked with Andy Lyne for some time, and we will be looking to keep together the squad that we have, and bring in a few new faces to freshen things up.
"It's now a case of trying to put a few of my own ideas together, using Ford's experience. We're looking to forge a good partnership, and hopefully string some results together to push us up the table."
Merritt added that although he is staying on in a playing capacity, his teammates now have to realise that he is manager as well.
He said: "Everybody will have a fair chance. It's down to the players we have to forge a place in the side.
"I've already spoken to most of the players. They will all have roles and responsibilities, and if they do what they are capable of, then that's great. If not, there's no room for sentiment. If they don't produce the goods, it will be down to me to make sure that they do."
Although Ford's role will be as assistant, the new City boss sees it being more than that.
