Didcot Town boss Gary Elkins is hoping that giant-killers Dorchester Town will be distracted by their FA Cup heroics when they visit the npower Loop Meadow Stadium.

While admiring the Blue Square Bet South side’s 1-0 win against Plymouth, Elkins says Didcot can pull off a surprise in tomorrow’s third qualifying-round.

“They are going to be big, strong and well-organised – and they are flying after Sunday’s result,” said Elkins.

“I am hoping that they will relax a bit because they have beaten a team from two leagues higher than them and are now playing us, a team from two leagues below.

“Maidenhead were two leagues above us and we beat them 1-0, and we will have to be at the top of our game again.”

First-choice keeper Marcos Belloli-Pereira returns after an ankle injury.

“I have spoken to Mauro Pereira (No 2 keeper), who has done nothing wrong, but unfortunately for him, Marcos can play at one or two levels higher than us. He was fine about it.

“Marcos is very good keeper and has a good rapport with the players.”

Didcot’s only doubt is Morgan Williams (ankle) .

Elkins added: “With flair and speed, and hopefully a bit of luck on the day, we can do it.”

Oxford City manager Mike Ford is aiming to use his side’s shock exit at the hands of Yate Town in the FA Cup to spur them on to victory away at Southern League side Sholing Sports.

City crashed to a 2-1 loss at Sholing’s Division 1 South & West rivals and Ford does not want another upset.

“I’m hoping the Yate experience will stand us in good stead,” said Ford.

“We went up there by coach and we even used our old numbers boards for the subs rather than the electronic ones, so we didn’t look flashy.

“We did everything we possibly could in planning for that game. But one or two of our players took the eye off the ball and we paid for it.

“I don’t think I even need to mention Yate to the players – if you don’t perform then that’s what you get.”

Albi Skendi is likely to start for City.
