Local players get the chance to take on four of the world’s top professionals in an Allstars event at the Spice Ball Leisure Centre in Banbury tonight.
Dutch legend Raymond van Barneveld, the five-time world champion, another former world title-holder, Mark Webster, European champion Simon Whitlock and world No 3 James Wade are set to compete alongside players, who have come through qualifiers rounds.
Among those hoping to cause an upset are Oxfordshire county players Graham Manning, who won the Bicester qualifier, Dion Newman, who came through at Banbury, and Wantage winner Scott Smith.
Aylesbury’s Carl Deacon, who plays in the Oxfordshire Super League, won his region.
Two younger players, Stephen Wright, 18, from Banbury, and 25-year-old Aaron Stevens, from Headington, have also been invited to take part.
